Capital Punishment: Is it right or wrong?

3. Hypocritical: Capital Punishment is seen as morally incorrect because it is a universal law that is unlawful but in that same justice system, the government issues the death of a human being, that human happening to be a criminal seemingly irrelevant. And this is in fact a complex form of murder. In the justice system, murder is punished severely but is also used to maintain stability and safety in society. This also effects the murderers family and essentially inflicts the same grief that a victim's family would suffer upon them and the convict loses the human right to their own life. It may seem that killing a murderer would be righting the action but it makes us just as morally wrong as the killer. Even more so if the victim is made out: by the killer, to have deserved death and that the notion behind it was vengeance, we would be dehumanizing ourselves to the level of a killer in the actions of capital punishment.
5. Not the worst punishment: Murder is considered to be the worst crime and deserves the worst punishment. The worst punishment is actually dependant on every individual's opinion, and some consider execution being a simple release. Prison is often described as 'a living hell', and aside from the conditions, the criminal has to suffer the guilt and repentance for their actions. |
